Hey everyone, I honestly don't think there is anyone out there reading my ramblings but you know what? I am okay with this! What can i tell you? Well it has been one hell of a year and I'm not sure how i have come out of the other end of it all. I truly think knitting has saved my life at times and just keeping busy, as i said in my last post I lost my best friend my gran and it has truly taken me a year to even come back here and even try and type something to you. My gran was more than just my gran, she was like my mum, my biggest supporter in life, she loved crafts and always encouraged me to do it and always wanted to know what i was working on and now i feel so so alone in the world. I know I am not really as I have the most amazing husband and family but i know life will never be the same again :(
Right lets try and write something. I have knitted 29 pairs of socks since january 2017 and that is quite a lot i think. I have also learnt that I love indie dyed yarn much more than standard shop sock yarn haha and it is an expensive hobby, but oh how i love it. I am so proud of myself that I have taught myself to knit socks all by myself. So here is a few pics of more I have finished. Etsy is the best place for handdyed yarn for sure, and be warned you will want it all ahahaha.
This yarn is by Kate Selene and she is my all time fav dyer.
This last pair are scrappy socks, thats not a nice word for them really hahaha as there not scrap! What i mean is they are made up of lots of different left over 4ply yarns I had in minis and left over from full skeins. I love them rather a lot and I think I will knit some more soon.
Right I am going to makea cuppa and wipe my tears away, yes i was crying the whole time typing this. Things can only get better right? Leave me a comment if you are there reading.
I truly hope to come back sooner. xx
Hello, I guess I should introduce myself to the world. I am Katy 35 married from the UK. I taught myself to crochet some 8 years ago now via youtube when I was needing something in my life at a very difficult time with my mental health and I love it so much. My nan had taught me to knit when I was a small child, I think around 9 years old I was and oh my I was so funny, she would cast me on 20 stitches and I would always end up with 3 or so stitches left and huge holes from dropping the stitches hahaha, I really never could work out how i managed it. So some years later I really wanted to give it another go as I was seeing such beautiful knitted socks all over instagram and I wanted in on this fun and all that stunning hand dyed yarn all over Etsy was screaming my name, January 1st 2017 set me on a new path to where I am now. Oh boy did i scream and say some very choice works while trying to cast on! Good old YouTube to the rescue and what can i say? the rest is history. I have taught myself to knit socks and am now on pair number 7 for the year. I am taking part in a KAL over on Ravelry, you knit 12 pairs of socks (4ply) in 12 months and keep them all in a pretty box. You can find the group YarnGasm Podcast honestly i have never enjoyed something so much as I am right now. So here are my first ever pair of hand knitted socks from January. The yarn is from FeltFusion on Etsy, all the yarn I buy is from UK sellers due to high postage and custom charges for me to buy it sadly.

Next time I will show you my second pair of socks I have done and so on. I am going through a very hard time with my mental health and my best friend in the entire world has just passed away my gran and I am struggling so I will be back soon to show you more. Well that's if anyone finds this little old blog of mine.
Till next time, Happy Knitting x
